The basic conditions for this years charity run for the Varel hospice were perfect: 610 motivated runners made their laps through Varel town centre at perfect running weather, on May 6th 2017.
Many spectators aside the track cheered the runners, who aimed for as many rounds as possible for a good cause. Food supplies such as water, electrolyte beverages and bite-sized banana pieces were provided by volunteers. The largest team were the 53 red PKV runners running 685 laps. The highest lap count of a PKV runner was 23 laps, which is 23 km. At the children's track, with a length of 300m per lap, the little ones also ran for the good cause and diligently collected the colored rubber bands, which were slipped over the arm of the runners, one for each lap. All participants were enthusiastic and will surely be there again next time.
